The results of Online Haiku Contest 2012-2013

During the period from March, 2012 to February, 2013 the Online Haiku Constest received 805 haiku poems written by 259 authors from all over the world. Thank you very much for such an active participation in Haiku Contest! After long consideration the Jury announced haiku poems of the year, which were selected from the best haiku poems of each season.
Lithuanian and English haiku poems were translated into Japanese language by our Special Jury member, haiku poet, director of World Haiku Association – Mr. Ban‘ya Natsuishi.

The Winter season results of Online Haiku Contest 2012-2013 were announced!

During December, 2012 – February, 2013 haiku poets submitted their poems for Online Haiku contest 2012-2013 Winter season. In total this season Haiku contest received 253 haiku poems written by 106 poets from all over the world. This time Haiku contest judges selected three best seasonal haiku poems in Lithuanian, English and Japanese languages.

The Autumn season results of Online Haiku contest 2012-2013 were announced!

During September-November 2012, the Online Haiku contest received more than 336 haiku poems from all over the world. The judges of Online Haiku contest selected 2 winners of the Autumn season in Lithuanian and English languages. This time no Japanese haiku was selected as winner.

The Summer season results of Online Haiku contest 2012-2013 were announced!

During June-August 2012, the Online Haiku contest received haiku poems from 39 authors from all over the world. Out of 100 haiku poems submitted for Summer season were selected 3 winners of the season in Lithuanian, English and Japanese languages.

Haiku contest 2012 – 2013

The Embassy of Japan in Lithuania is organizing Haiku Contest 2012-2013, in order to gather all haiku lovers and provide them with an opportunity to express themselves. The aim of this contest is to reveal the beauty and uniqueness of each season (spring, summer, autumn and winter). We will collect haiku poems, composed in traditional form: 3 lines, 5-7-5 syllables.

日本・リトアニアオンライン俳句コンテスト2011

Japan-Lithuania Online HAIKU Contest 2011

   On May 15th, 2011, the Embassy of Japan in Lithuania started the Japan-Lithuania Online Haiku Contest 2011 to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Lithuania. The Online Haiku contest is now completed and the winners have been selected.

   The Embassy received 119 haiku poems from 47 participants. The Embassy is pleased that the Online Haiku contest was very successful since it received haiku poems from Lithuania, Japan and some other countries. The Jury members did their best to select the best haiku poems, and carefully selected the winners of the Japan-Lithuania Haiku contest 2011. The winners’ haikus would be published in a weekly magazine “Literatūra ir menas“. Since there were haiku poems in Japanese and Lithuanian, the jury members divided them into two groups (Japanese haiku and Lithuanian haiku) and selected 1 winner from each group.
